6 WAYS TO INCREASE WORK EFFICIENCY WHILE FLYING

From finding a spot to set up a mobile office to eliminating distractions, here’s how you can increase your productivity.

Working professionals are often racing against time to meet deadlines, and this can be a harrowing experience when you have a looming deadline and are stuck at the airport in transit, waiting for a flight. Here’s how you can use that travel time productively.

  1. FIND AN IDEAL SPOT TO SET UP A MOBILE OFFICESome airports have dedicated work areas you can use set up with Wi-Fi and multiple USB Sockets to plug your electronic devices in while you work. If the airport does not have such a dedicated space, you can set up your mobile office at an unused departure gate. However, make sure to choose a spot that’s not far from an information screen, so you don’t miss any important announcements.
  2. INVEST IN NOISE-CAN-CELLING HEADPHONE If you are a frequent traveller, who gets a lot of work down during flights, it makes sense to purchase good quality noise –cancelling headphones that can drown out any background noise, giving you the peace and quiet you need to work without being hassled about the rising decibels around you.
  3. HEAD TO A COFFEE SHOP – Most coffee shops at the airport terminal will give you access to Wi-Fi if you purchase a coffee or a snack. This takes care of the limited Wi-Fi issue you are likely to face if using airport Wi-Fi. You can also avail of airport lounge services for a fee.
  4. KEEP A TAB OF YOUR TIME – set an alarm taking into account the time you will need to get to the gate for boarding. This way, you can work in peace without having to keep looking at your watch every five minutes.
  5. DOWNLOAD DOUCMENTS THAT HAVE TO BE READ – use the Wi-Fi to download any documents you need to read in details. This way, you can use your wait time to go through them while you wait to board your flight.
  6. JUICE UP – CHARGE all your devices as you work, including your power bank, cellphone and laptop. This way your devices will be fully charged when you need to work with them, and you will not have to worry about running out of battery.

PICK A SPOT THAT’S CLOSE TO YOUR BOARDING GATE AND AN INFORMATION SCREEN, SO THAT YOU DO NOT MISS ANY RELEVANT UPDATES.
